In 2014, I realized , what was at the time, one of my biggest professional goals of landing a job in the wealth management industry; I got a job as an investment analyst. Once I started in my position, I quickly realized that, though I was confident in my ability to be a success at my job, I was struggling to keep pace. This threw me for a loop, because my educational background was in finance, and I was taken by surprised at how quickly that knowledge base had atrophied simply from a lack of utilization in my previous employ. I knew I had to do something to get myself up to the curve quickly or I could potentially lose the confidence of my current employer.

That's where Fitz-Ritson and Associates came in. I registered as a student in the Securities and Portfolio management program and from the first class I was engaged. Throughout the duration of the program I learned new and exciting things about the world of investing and was reminded of things that, at the time, I didn't even know I forgot. However, what the Program and the lecturers excelled at was helping to steer their students towards the path of critical thinking. For an analyst, or even an investor, critical thinking is so important! It the train of thought that goes beyond the surface. It is the type of thinking that causes one to constantly seek an answer to the question, "why" , and , "what are the implications of each potential outcome". This is the type of thinking that keeps one ahead of the curve. I think that's what differentiates the Fitz Ritson program from the rest; you don't just learn facts and history. You learn techniques (like how to analyze deeply).
